Schumacher Centenary Festival - Colston Hall

Ben & Alfie at Colston Hall - Schumacher Centenary Festival
We had a wonderful time at the Schumacher Centenary Festival this weekend!
Loads of really inspiring talks about the life of Schumacher and current thinking on similar economic and ecological subjects.
Schumacher's thinking was largely about how economics should not be conceived from a material/product based perspective. Instead he suggested that (as obvious as it may seem!) economic value should be based upon a holistic view of it's impact on people and environment first and profit last.

"Modern man... talks of a battle with nature, forgetting that, if he won the battle, he would find himself on the losing side." (E.F. Schumacher)

We Played a session at lunchtime on Saturday and then in the evening as well, at Colston hall. You can hear a short interview on BBC Radio Bristol (from saturday 08/10/11) with us and a bit of our music! - Ben & Alfie BBC Radio Bristol (our bit begins 2h 06min in to the program)
