Busy Times

It’s been a while since the last time I posted so we’ll try to bring you up to date with our movements over the summer. And what a summer it has been!

Since Dartington Home Festival we have been on a bit of a roller coaster from one thing to the next. I seem to remember a trip to London with the Orchestra of the Age of enlightenment and a really beautiful Concert down at the Golowan Festival in Penzance.

On Wednesday we got ourselves lost in Birmingham with the Double Bass on our way to the Music For Youth National Festival. However, we did find our way there eventually and ended up leaving with 2 Awards (the “Vivendi Student Composition Award” and the “Musicians’ Union Ensemble Award”)!

We also played for the Launch Party of the Ways With Words Literary Festival which has been going now for 21 years and is as beautiful as ever. We played for Ways With Words last year but this Friday was a particularly special gig that will stay with us for a while, not least because we shared a green room with Michael Palin who shook our hands and complemented us on our music!!!

We then spent the weekend down at Sharpham Estate (Nr Totnes) where we were performing and generally having a great time with the other lovely people volunteering for the open days.

Tomorrow we are off to the Southbank Center to play a little for the leaving do of Christina Coker - Director of Youth Music.
